Characters Unite
Digital documentary series for USA Network in partnership with The Moth Theatre. For the original launch of Characters Unite, USA and The Moth went into inner city public schools to help teach storytelling to kids using theatre techniques. And we were there to document the experience. Services include directing and producing.
Characters Unite combined traditional documentary work with red carpet and live event spoken word coverage.
From interviews with high schoolers participating in the program, along with their mentors at The Moth, we covered the program’s evolution across five cities: New York, New Orleans, Chicago, Denver and Seattle. For each leg, we documented the storytelling workshop with teachers and students as well as their participation as storytellers alongside celebrities at red carpet galas.
