Earthiotic

Documentary Film

Feature documentary, currently a candidate for fiscal sponsorship at Film Independent. A study in rock ’n roll, the American Dream and immigration in the modern age.

Tariq TEE-M Mirza and I have made two music videos together. Now we’re making a documentary.

Here’s our logline: a rock ‘n roll take on the immigration debate seen through the eyes of Tariq “TEE-M” Mirza – a Pakistani folk hero and immigrant who sings in English and Urdu, looks like Roy Orbison and sounds like The Beatles – as he retraces his improbable American Dream story from Karachi to California and back, exploring South Asian and Muslim participation in American pluralism along the way with his signature Earthiotic blend of peace and halwa (a confection of friendship).
